His first speaking part was in a Witcher 2 Achievement Guide, titled " The Witcher 2: Librarian Achievement Guide", uploaded on June 16, 2011. Outside of Game Fails, the first video Ryan made was the NYC tour video, titled " A video game tour of NYC", uploaded on June 10, 2011. Ryan also worked as an editor, crew member and recurring host, before being featured in videos as a main host beginning in March of 2012, becoming one of the main crew members. He was largely in charge of the Achievement Hunter website and the recently-created Game Fails YouTube channel. He did end up with the job, subsequently moving to Austin, Texas where he began full-time work as an editor for Achievement Hunter. After applying, Geoff had Ryan up drive up to Austin on more than one occasion to ensure he really wanted the job. In early 2011, after moving to Corpus Christi, Texas, Ryan found an job opportunity on Craigslist for a job opening with Rooster Teeth. He also attended Georgia Southern University for six years, taking courses in computer science, broadcast, and theater, and studied abroad in England. Ryan graduated from Full Sail University with a degree in computer animation. Apart from modelling, Ryan worked as a pool cleaner during his early high school days. According to the Twist magazine stats, Ryan made Twist magazine quite popular during the time he worked there. Separate from Twist, Ryan also starred in a runway show in Italy where he was dressed as a gnome who stood on a mushroom. After $200,000 was raised during an Extra Life stream, the pictures from his Twist days were released. He was referred to by his parents as Ryan rather than James, and it stuck.ĭuring his time in high school, Ryan worked as a professional male model, as stated in Let's Play - 7 Days to Die Part 3, appearing in a magazine called "Twist". Ryan grew up primarily in the Columbus, Georgia area.
