Still, my recommendation remains the same: skip it.ĭeaths by oversized aquatic animals: To be honest, I have no idea…I couldn’t pay attention enough to even count. There’s also a pretty good scene with the shark nomming on the Golden Gate Bridge. I do love that someone took the time to figure that out… ![]() Which according to the following chart, is completely theoretically possible. And then we see the Mega Shark through the window-yeah, it’s coming for the plane. The flight attendant is trying to calm passengers down, and one guy states, very emphatically, “I’m getting married in two days.” That’s it. It did include a Morgan Freeman wannabe, constantly switching accents, the video switching from color to black and white for dramatic effect, a not-showing-anything sex scene between the “lover scientists” that leads to a life-saving revelation, and my favorite scene! We see random people on a large plane, dealing with storm/creature-related turbulence. I think the main problem was it took itself WAY too seriously, but didn’t give me a good reason to take it seriously. Any time they were on a boat and one of the creatures came around, the camera went into serious shaking mode, even if the creature was incredibly far away. They pretty much had about 6 shots they used over and over, and expected us to not notice. Everything? The characters were one dimensional and boring, the dialogue didn’t make sense and was boring, the creature shots were few and far between, and when they were there they were AWFUL. That makes it sound even more interesting than it was…I would actually want to watch that movie… Thus ensues an hour and a half of the scientists running around trying to do decide what the best way to do that is. Basics: there’s a giant shark, and a giant octopus loose in the ocean, and no one can really explain why or where they came from or what they want, but they know they need to be destroyed. I could tell you about the plot, but then I would have to actually remember it. I know it had some of the lamest visual effects imaginable. I know the lead scientist chick had a fling with the lead Asian scientist guy. ![]() The sad thing is, a few days later, I really could not tell you much about it. MSvGO tried REALLY hard to have a plot, and it tried even harder to make me care about it. That sounds harsh…but if you were to read my live blog notes, you would see me complaining about these very things every eight sentences or so.Īccording to this review, the movie features 5:20 of the Mega Shark and the Giant Octopus.
